Patterns that feel difficult to change
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is an evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help people process distressing experiences and the thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and physical responses connected to them.
EMDR uses a structured treatment process that may include guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. Treatment includes preparation before reprocessing begins and is individualized based on your history, needs, goals, and readiness.
You remain present and in control throughout the process.
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR Is One Part of What We Do
EMDR isn't the right approach for every person, and it isn't the only approach available at Living Forward. Therapy is individualized based on your needs, goals, and the clinician you work with. Treatment approaches and specialties vary by clinician.
Two Ways to Access EMDR
ONGOING EMDR THERAPY
EMDR may be incorporated into ongoing individual therapy when it is appropriate for your needs and treatment goals.
Regular sessions provide time to establish a therapeutic relationship, prepare for EMDR, identify experiences to address, and move through treatment at a pace informed by your needs.
May be a good fit if: You want ongoing therapeutic support while incorporating EMDR into your treatment.
EMDR INTENSIVES
EMDR intensives provide longer, concentrated blocks of therapeutic time for clients who may benefit from a more focused treatment format.
Consultation, assessment, and preparation are completed before determining whether an intensive is appropriate for your needs.
3-Hour Intensive — $750
6-Hour Intensive — $1,500
Two-Day Intensive — $2,500
EMDR intensives aren't appropriate for every client. Your individual needs, treatment goals, and readiness are considered before scheduling an intensive.
EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives are currently provided by Lassandra Purnell, LCSW.
